Smackers Sports Grill, Waynesville NC

Overall: ★★★☆☆

Smackers Sports Grill is a small local restaurant and bar located halfway between Waynesville and Maggie Valley NC. It’s a common stopping point for bickers traveling through the mountains. But don’t let it’s somewhat ragged appearance turn you off. Smackers is a great place to eat and it won’t drain your wallet either.

Our take: Good food, low prices, relaxed and not super busy. Could be a little cleaner and nicer, but no major complaints. Definitely check it for a good beer and burger.

Bogart’s Restaurant and Tavern Waynesville NC

Bogart’s is a restaurant that we had heard a great deal about when we first moved here. It was additionally always busy and we assumed it must be a great place to eat. Bogart’s is good, but not great and certainly not as good as we had expected. While we’ve been a few times and enjoyed it, there are definitely better places to eat for money.

Located just off on main street in historic Waynesville, NC is one of the best fine dining restaurants in the Waynesville area.  The Sweet Onion is an upscale-Southern eatery owned by Doug and Jenny Weaver of Waynesville and Dan Elliot.
